What to Expect

Setting aside intentional time and space to better understand yourself is transformative, and requires a brave openness to exploring your narrative.

Counseling can provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to feel seen and heard, which often begins a process of healing and growth. You are invited to come just as you are into each session, knowing that you are not alone.

In our sessions together you can expect the chance to share openly about your experiences. I’m listening for the sole purpose of encouraging you in a path of health and healing. If talking about your experiences feels difficult, that’s okay too. I can help by asking gentle questions and finding creative options for expression.

We’ll consider how often counseling might be helpful and make a plan to work toward your desired outcomes. Depending on your needs and goals, you can expect a fair amount of invitation to verbal reflection in sessions. You might leave with a homework assignment or a new practice to incorporate in between sessions.

Counseling can involve looking deeper into pain points and reflecting on emotions or thoughts that can be troubling. I’ll be there to provide support and resources as you explore growth areas. We will regularly assess progress together and consider the projected path ahead—including a plan for eventually tapering off from counseling.
