About Christian Counseling
As a Christian myself, I believe transparency about my worldview can have a meaningful impact in our therapeutic work together. Though the spectrum of beliefs within Christianity is broad, having a shared framework for understanding humanity and our suffering provides a unique foundation for a gospel-centered counseling relationship.
I’m passionate about helping others understand themselves, their world, and God in a way that promotes wholehearted living.
I apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques, (from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy) in the context of the Christian worldview to work towards emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health.
No matter your faith background, spiritual assessment is part of my approach as a holistic therapist. I believe we do our best work toward meaningful growth when we involve every aspect of our being in the process; body, mind, heart, and soul. During our intake session, I will ask questions to get to know your spiritual journey and we will discuss how incorporating spiritual formation or Christian theology into counseling may be helpful for you.
For more information about how my faith shapes my work as a counselor, don’t hesitate to ask in a free fifteen minute phone consultation.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
